With a rowing boat you sail from us via the village canal to the southernmost tip of Giethorn, the idyllic Zuideindiger Wiede. On this shallow lake you can row quietly along the reeds and enjoy what nature has to offer at that time.

You will rarely find a tour boat or large boats here. Many breeding birds, a gull colony and if you pay attention you can even see a few deer walking. In short, a unique quiet spot in Giethoorn.
The Zuideindiger Wiede is ideally suited to cast a fishing rod. You can also enjoy a nice swim (hard bottom) or a nice picnic.
We had a great experience, enjoyed the weather and the boat tour ! Let’s start with saying that It’s a must to take a boat tour in giethoorn However the staff weren’t friendly at all and acting busy and ignoring the guests even when they’re free ( not busy with other customers) Thanks to google maps I made it back to the same station Price list isn’t fixed they kept changing the price we choose the last electric boat in the attached picture and spent 80 euros for 2 hour rent Tips: - Hats, umbrella, sunscreen would be great to bring along with you - bring your snacks/ coffee for the way - take a map from them and compare it google maps to know your way and how to come back - you will spend the 2 hours for sure - pass by the ice cream board as they accept all methods of payment Enjoy and don’t anyone ruin the fun !!!
Handy for visiting Giethoorn with car. Free parking and nice restaurant. You can rent a small boats or join their boat tour. An hour for €12.50/person. The burger was bit too salty, the rest is ok. The portion is good enough, you get what you pay for. Friendly service. Lot of toilets.
The river ride was V good the captain was great. The restaurant food was V good except one lady waitress was on the wrong side of bed maybe. She thrown down the menu and wasn’t so nice to us. Maybe she though we were Chinese - we r Singaporean who speak English well and some funny Singlish.
Amazing old age village. River flows into each house, flower and tree bloomsoon. Best visit during summer. Nice village people and boat driving. You can rent a house here.
