Smit: “Anything is possible if possible”
Almost 20 years ago, in anticipation of our 25th wedding anniversary, we were looking for a “cosy-good-friendly shop” to do something in. Of course, the inner man should not be forgotten, so with a good kitchen. And there had to be room for ± 70 people. We were asked to look at you by one of our brothers-in-law. There, where the schnitzel was so delicious and … cheap. For ten guilders with everything on and on! Now he hadn’t said too much. We go there and after a pleasant chat with Mr. Smit, the thing was in no time.
Coffee with apple pie, a cruise, a visit to the museum and a cold and warm buffet. We were made very welcome! And we were met on the day of the party with walking stick and clogs by Grandpa Smit, who was happy with two full tour boats. Now after all these years, after a hard scooter ride, we still tie up to the “Smitties” to enjoy a snack and a drink on the terrace and we always get a very warm welcome from Hendrik and Janneke and the staff, who are also very warm and friendly. No matter how busy it is, there’s always time for a chat.
The Smit “slogan” is still “Anything is possible if possible”! And that’s a lot!
